At Sonder State Aesthetics in Worthington, microneedling is performed by Jessye Okuley, PA-C, a board-certified Physician Assistant with a decade of medical experience.

Each session takes about 60 minutes, skin is typically pink for one to three days, and most clients see the best results after a series of three to six treatments. What to expect

Your appointment begins with a cleanse and a topical numbing cream for comfort. Dermapen is then passed over the skin in sections, followed by a calming serum and skin-supporting finish. Most clients describe a light vibrating, sandpaper-like sensation.

Afterward, skin looks and feels like a mild sunburn for one to three days. Plan to skip makeup for the first 24 hours and wear sunscreen daily. Results continue to build for several weeks after each session as collagen develops.

Who should not get microneedling?

Microneedling isn’t recommended during pregnancy, with active breakouts or skin infection in the area, with a history of keloid scarring, or within six months of isotretinoin (Accutane). Your health history is reviewed first.
